Kalotaszeg

Kalotaszeg, the richest land in embroidery of the Transylvanian Hungarians, uses a variety of techniques. They are known for their unique free hand drawn "written" embroideries. These were sewn on ruffled, cotton or flax linen using only a single colour: red, blue, black or white.
